It wasn’t easy to rattle Akutagawa, hell, Atsushi had seen the guy face much worse than a warehouse and come away with nothing more than a snarl and a black eye. And yet this was the thing that made him tremble, this was the thing that made him finally say Atsushi’s name in a voice that didn’t sound like it should have come from his mouth.
“Akutagawa,” Atsushi said slowly, turning toward where the footsteps were coming from, “Is this from your memory?”

he knew what it was, he knew all the symptons to it. the flowers grew in the lungs, thriving off the enviorment, and it was caused by unrequited love, or something of the sort. the only cures, were to either confess your feelings, and have two options proceed. either you get rejected and possibly die, or you get accepted and live, with the flowers fading away to whoever-knows-where.—-----------------------
or, aka, poe knows damn well alot abt hanahaki but has an entirely different but similar disease and it kills him lmfao (or does it?)

Ever since Dazai had a new apprentice, Akutagawa knew he would hate that Atsushi for getting Dazai’s approval so quickly, he never knew he would get “feelings for him”, and he’ll be in absolute denial until the end.
