It’s 2008 and Draco Malfoy is a secret assassin. It's legitimate - he gets paid for it, and some higher ups in the Ministry (probably?) know he’s out there… killing people. He’s quite good, but that tracks with his dubious accounting of rights and wrongs and his penchant for self-preservation. During his downtime he does a great job of acting like a pureblood in penance... mostly by drinking and shagging his way into oblivion.
This double life helps to numb Draco to the constant feelings of shame and guilt from his formative years in which he was an utter cunt- but everything is upended when his team (assassins can have coworkers, alright?) dies in action and he does not. Suspended and forced to go to therapy, Draco is adrift.
When Hermione Granger re-enters the fray, their hateful relationship that was once fraught with swotty bickering (erm, and the occasional slur) is suddenly tense in a very different way.
How will these two come together? How often will Theo say something terribly charming? Do we hate Ron or is Ron just, meh? Oh, and what’s going on with that one murderous witch who’s out to kill them all (forgot to mention that part…)?

“Yeah. I sent all my stuff ahead. I doubt Cora will unpack for me though,” Derek told him.
“No, I doubt it. She’s probably too busy running naked through the woods,” Stiles shuddered.
“Oh my god, do you have to?” Derek had grimaced. “That’s my sister.”
“Sorry! I’m not thinking about her naked I swear,” Stiles protested, holding his hands up.
Derek had cocked an eyebrow at him.
“I’m not lying! Feel!” Stiles yanked on Derek’s arm until his hand popped out of his pocket and he’d dragged him closer, placing Derek’s palm over his heart.
Derek had made a soft sound of surprise, but he’d allowed the manhandling and he crowded in closer to Stiles.
Stiles hadn’t thought it through because the second Derek’s hips were inches from his and Derek’s stupid, lovely face was all up in his, his heart had begun pounding erratically.

Derek pauses outside the door, feeling like a creeper. He can’t help but quickly peek in, just to ensure Stiles is OK (or so he tells himself) and immediately wishes he hadn’t. He can see Stiles’ lean muscled shoulders leaning back against the bath edge, his head tipped back, neck exposed, face turned slightly away from the door.
Derek sucks in a breath. He really should not be seeing him like this. He looks.... well he looks edible. Beautiful.
He’s tinged pink from the steam and his upper back and shoulders show the evidence of the vigorous year of training they’ve had.
He didn’t realise Stiles had gotten quite so toned. He can’t see his whole face but he imagines his cute upturned nose and those soft pink lips parted in exhausted pleasure.
Derek’s suddenly having trouble with his jeans. He makes a very quiet noise that comes out between a soft growl and a moan when he realises, he’s getting hard.

Derek’s been sulking pretty much since the minute Stiles had left, soothed only by the fact that Stiles had given him the date he was planning on returning. Derek had marked the day on the calendar pinned to the fridge door, with a big red circle.
Cora had changed the circle into a heart and she’d drawn two stick men holding hands next to it, one with red eyes and thick eyebrows and one with a big smile and messy hair.
Derek hadn’t changed it back.
