Summary
Tim knew what he was signing up for when he decided to (kind of) single-handedly prevent an emotionally repressed and incredibly depressed man from ending his life after his second son died.
He knew that he would need to make sure that Bruce ate his meals, drank some fucking water, and didn’t nearly kill every villain he had the displeasure of facing night after night.
What he didn’t expect was the amount of times Tim had to pull guns out of Bruce’s mouth.
…
Or: Tim saves Bruce from ending it all by pretending to be Jason, and none of the ‘Batkids’ ever found out about it.

Bruce knew that something was going to happen tonight, sooner or later.
The four boys (and they were all in the manor tonight, god bless) had been sharing hushed whispers, especially with Tim - who had been the only one to have noticed the fact that Bruce could see all of this. There was a reason why the two were called alike so often, they could read the other near-instantly.
Tonight, Tim seemed nervous.

He didn’t want to admit it earlier, but it was clear that he couldn’t stick it out any longer. The storm was coming in faster than he thought it would. The weatherman had said it’d come tomorrow, but he must be dumb, because he got it wrong.

OR: When a young homeless Tim Drake gets stuck investigating a case, the only one around to help him is Robin. This would be fine, except for the fact that he just told Robin that his real name is Jason Todd, and he's now insisting on taking him home?

"Hey," Robin said softly. "It's okay."
It wasn't. It wasn't okay. Tim ruined everything. Now Robin was going to think that he was weird. His (hopeful) future interactions would be tainted. Tim could never see Robin in the eye again.
Tears welled up in his eyes and his throat closed in on itself. He stumbled backwards, his heart beating quick and hard against his ribs.
"Hey. Kid, you okay?” Robin looked at him worriedly. “Please don’t cry. I promise it’s okay.”
Tim mutely shook his head. He curled into himself, gripping the side of his arms tightly, trying to remember what it was like to breathe, cheeks burning hot with shame.
He was an embarrassment.

Summary
Janet Drake was a storyteller.
She loved narrating different tales to Tim. Every night without fail, before little Tim went to bed, she would tell him a story. Tim loved hearing all of them, they took him to places he could never imagine. He loved every single story that spilled from his mom's lips.
Except for The Adventures of The Naughty Boy Who Had No Name.
Whenever Tim misbehaved, Janet would make him sit down on his knees, then she would sit in front of him, sometimes on a chair, sometimes on the floor, and she would tell him stories of a boy who was a bad child.
A boy who never listened to his parents. A boy who was arrogant and selfish. And in every story, the boy always ended up dead.
Tim was smart. He knew when the stories were about him.
Janet always loved visuals. She described in detailed length the many different ways the boy died. Gruesome, painful, disgusting ways.
Janet was an excellent storyteller. And Tim was afraid of those stories coming to life.

All in all, it’s clear that Tim is rather… lacking with a steady adult in his life, which is probably his fault somehow, anyway, so he shouldn’t complain. When he picked his head up, his vision was level with his window. There wasn’t much to see, just the gardens out back, his mother’s rose bushes lining the property, and Wayne Manor in the distance. Tim sat up completely straight as a thought struck him.
