Before, being asked a question without permission to speak would’ve been a test, a trick, but now it’s not an option. He hadn’t been able to be trained out of it, so he lost that right. Tommy's much less annoying like this and gets far less punishments when he can’t even break the rules. So, why did these people keep asking him questions? Do they not know the rules?
They think Tommy is selectively mute, he’s not the one selecting. Magically muzzled, he can only respond if ordered to.

Wilbur was a pretty average guy. Maybe a little tall, but otherwise completely normal looking. If you met him on the street, you'd probably share a greeting, maybe a few jokes or jabs, with each other before continuing your day.

"What the hell happened to you?" Techno asked, narrowing his eyes at Tommy and looking him over.
"Damn, fuck you too." Tommy muttered, brushing off some of the dirt on his jeans. It didn't really do anything, but he felt better about it.
He knew he looked like shit. He literally didn't have one of his shoes, and his clothes were in tatters as he only had one set and couldn't really wash it, not that there would be a point to. He was covered in dirt, and he was pretty sure his shirt had a bunch of old blood stains on it. Which definitely didn't help his case.
