    The Sludge Villain doesn't find Bakugo after escaping All Might, but some other random civilian. There's no series of explosions to draw All Might to the scene of the second attack. It's by pure luck that Izuku stumbles upon them. And Izuku does what he always has when he sees one person hurting another: inserts himself between the aggressor and victim. He finds this is significantly harder to do when one of the parties is a sentient slime.

    Really, that was it. That’s all he was asking for.

    All Might never dropped the slime villain. Midoriya never got One For All. Hopelessness burns admiration into resentment. Saved from his own self-disgust of being quirkless by a soon-to-be half fire/half ice hero, a new obsession arises. And Shigaraki is more than happy to take in an upcoming villain with hatred that mirrors his own. He’ll even help get anything and anyone he wants.

    But what happens when a villain gets a soft spot? Can villains even have those? It’s a little weird but they figure it out. And it gets even weirder when Todoroki family drama is involved. And a dog apparently. Maybe the bad guys are just little broken and fate has cursed them to be that way. Or maybe someone’s been pulling the strings since the day All Might turned his back on Midoriya on that rooftop.

    Shigaraki Izuku is trained to become the greatest hero and kill his own father, but he never forgot the warm hugs and hot chocolate his father gave him when he has bad dreams. He also never forgot the games his big brother used to play with him.

    Shigaraki Izuku's destiny is to destroy his family, but is that the life he really wants?
    Maybe he will change his destiny with the help of his friends and homeroom teacher.

    “Huh. Makes sense that they’d lump him with a pro hero,” she intones, her eyes flitting to Hizashi. It sounds like she’s trying to crack some sort of relatable joke, but it falls critically flat. “With a quirk like that… well, I mean...”

    “--and what are you implicating?" Shouta snaps.


    Midoriya Izuku has an extremely dangerous quirk and falls under the hands of some extremely dangerous people.

    Eight years later, he is discovered within the midst of a League of Villains base raid.
