After courting failure with attempts to cling to his old life, he decides to make a full break and to reinvent himself. Now, she lives as a young woman, having joined a supportive found-family, working in a bar in Tokyo. The “Phoenix” tells the tales of her finding herself, slowly carving out a new existence as a waitress and a singer - and of forming a new, deep connection with Akane, one of the few remnants of Ranko’s past life. There’s drama, action and love - and some clever original song lyrics (go, read it now, it’s very good).
This is not that story - instead of an epic tale, this is a short recursive spin-off about Akane kicking ass and taking names. Ranko is very proud of her girlfriend.

Summary
Ranma, having lost the Phoenix Pill and being all but trapped in his feminine form, leaves the Tendo Dojo in search of a "normal" life. With the Full Body Cat's Tongue rendering them unable to take a hit and putting martial arts largely out of her life, Ranma needs a new career path, too. After spending a few months homeless in Tokyo, Ranma ends up getting a job in a bar run by a found family consisting of the owner and four hard-luck girls that work there and now live as sisters. At the Phoenix, Ranma finds a place where she can be accepted and "normal," learns to deal with the trauma she's experienced and finds acceptance with her new family. As she does so, she also learns to live as a young woman, discovering a new talent and potential career as a singer.

Tim’s mother would spend hours getting ready for a gala. She traced her lip pencil into the corner of her cupid's bow, applied a small amount of glitter into the corner of her eye to bring out their color and blush to make her cheeks rosy. When she was done, she was a modern Aphrodite. Prim and perfect and completely untouchable.
Tim, on the other was flawed and broken. Just then, he was crying in the cave’s shower rooms. His legs were half-shaven, tears and snot pouring down his face, in one hand he held a makeup brush, and in the other, an eyeshadow palette.
Or: Tim had always been different than everyone else. His mother noticed but ignored it. His father knew and hated him for it. He prayed that the Waynes would never find out but they always did. And maybe that’s okay.
