Summary
2065. After years of pharmoscientific research, quantumphysicist Dr. T. Sanders develops the reality-altering drug temporuo, which enhances the brain's perception to become aware of the much-fabled quantum multiverse. Though this degree of mind-rupturing awareness kills its host instantly, it allows the host's sentience to travel to the closest quantumuniverse it can find.
Consciousness is transferred over as the original quantum universe is destroyed, leading the host to experience a rewinding of time when they find themselves back in a universe prior - mere moments before the revelation. In other words: a drug that essentially allows its user to 'loop back in time'.
Nine years later. It hadn't taken long before temp ended up in the wrong hands. Greedy lab partners of Sanders' had attempted to replicate the drug for their own use. Within months, criminality started to sore and violent incidents went viral as 'Loopers' started trading and using the drug for their own advantage. Government attempts to curb abuse of temp proved futile.
Janus struggles to find hope and meaning in this world anymore.
Until one Time, when someone knocks on his door.

Summary
Even now, Arthur acquiesced to him wondering around a bit on his own, content to tuck into some lunch at a diner further in town, which was precisely how John found himself frozen before the double doors of Edith Mordent Memorial Hospital.
Alone.
This is why he had come here to begin with, wasn’t it? To check.
To check what, exactly? That she was still working here? That she hadn’t been fired after Arthur had stumbled from his room on trembling legs in the middle of the night, effectively proving the ineptitude of the hospital’s staff and security? That she hadn’t been injured or possessed or devoured by some otherworldly creature left in their wake?
That she would remember him?
John grasped the delusion by the tail before it could carry him away with it. That’s all it was. A delusion cleverly disguised as a dream.
So why the fuck was he entertaining it?

Summary
"His arms still felt tense without the connection to Arthur. Anxiety – was that what that was? – was brewing in his gut at the distance between them, despite it only being two feet at most. At least in Arthur’s eyes he had a better position to warn him should something approach; now there were too many distractions, and the angle was off. He had an almost overpowering urge to grab onto Arthur again, hold him tight against his body and never let him go ever again. That way they could be close again, close enough to protect against any threats, close enough to feel… whole."
---
John and Arthur finally separate and temporarily stay in New York to get used to this new arrangement. It doesn't go as well as they might have hoped.

Summary
A gentle touch on his leg snapped John back to the present, once again. Arthur quickly removed his hand, glancing to the cab driver, then back to John. “You’re sure nothing’s the matter?”
Uneasiness curled Arthur’s shoulders inward, furrowed his brows. He could never seem to stop worrying, could he? John felt something ache deep within him.
“I’m fine, Arthur. Just…admiring.”
“Admiring?”
“Yes. The sky, it’s… It’s really beautiful.”
