Derek vowed to himself then that he'd never show Stiles anything illegal, that he'd just talk with him when he wanted to talk to him. He'd be that person that maybe helped the boy get through whatever it was that had led him to seek friends online.
On top of that, Derek would monitor the kid’s account as best as he could and make sure that none of the creeps or assholes made an appearance on the account of this one special boy.

The next day, Stiles is getting a coffee and runs into Derek, literally. They have coffee together and the next time Stiles kills, Derek is out there with him. When it's time for Stiles to leave town, Derek goes with him and Stiles decides he kind of likes the idea of having a pet werewolf.
