Winnie stands abruptly, her chair screeching against the hardwood floor. "Children, take your plates to Sarah's apartment. We'll come get you when we're done talking."
AN: I've compiled this series into one fic as I should have from the beginning. At the time I thought It was a 'stylistic' choice to pubish one/two shots but tbh it was just annoying to read/manage. Hope this is better :)

Bucky Barnes is a soldier, recently returned from the war. He feels like a burden on his family, being unable to hold down a job (or find one, for that matter) due to his disability. His parents try to reassure him that he's welcome, even get him a dog so he doesn't isolate himself so much, but the weight he carries from the war is a heavy one. At the suggestion of his father and with the encouragement of his sister Becca, Bucky moves to his late uncle's house in California in hopes of finding a job.
Or himself, whichever comes first.
He finds both, along with something he hadn't been searching for.
