The glaring light of the blank screen bore down on them all unforgivingly. Bathed in the glow of fake hope, of confusion, of finally understanding that there was no way out. That it had all been a lie.
Would it have mattered if it wasn't, though? He had taken that choice from everyone in the room. He knew that. Could feel it in the way his fingers twitched, ears tensed in alarm. Why had he done that? What exactly had he done?
In the grand scheme of things? Nothing, except prove his own doubts right. Even if he had started to believe it in the end. But, they all saw. Witnessed his greatest moment of weakness. His greatest act of selfishness.

“Shoot me,” Stolas said. In the past a blessed weapon would be needed, but in the state he was in now…this should do it. Did he want to die? No, he didn’t think he did. But it was difficult to gather the strength to want to live. He’d been trying to keep it together for Blitzø’s sake. He’d been trying so hard. But if Blitzø didn’t want him around anymore, then there was simply no one left to try for.
Blitzø looked at him in confusion. Then he shrugged, lifting his gun to aim at Stolas’ head. “I mean if that’s what ya want –”
OR
Shortly after Sinsmas, a version of Blitzø from the past shows up, having swapped places with present Blitzø, the one who actually liked Stolas. Stolas convinces this past Blitzø that he's his court-ordered secretary and nothing more, at least until he can find a way to undo what's been done.
