He looked at her and then slowly took her hand, allowing the warm introduction, but still didn't say a word. Not his name or a simply hi. Nothing.
"Okaaay", Catherine said as she climbed herself back up to her feet. She braced herself against the doorframe. Feeling a little sickish on the upswing. Her go-bag was behind her on the landing where she'd literally dragged it after the cab had dropped her from the airport.
"Is anyone home? Steve or Danny ... or even Charlie? How about Grace? If I promise to stay right here ... will you get one of them for me?"

Summary
When he's forced to move to Hawaii to be with his daughter, Danny takes the only possible advantage of having to leave his entire life behind, and finally opens his own bakery. Maybe he’s still lonely, maybe his employees, Kono and Chin Ho, keep trying to set him up, but he has a rhythm. He sees his daughter every other weekend, and he works in the bakery the rest of the time. It’s a flat rhythm, but that's fine. He’s fine. At least, that’s what he keeps telling himself – until a gorgeous SEAL gets stuck in the rain outside his bakery....
Steve hasn’t talked to his father for years when he gets the call about the accident, and for good reason. Still, he’s not going to abandon Mary to deal with everything by herself, so he takes the offered bereavement leave and goes home to Hawaii. He’s fully planning to cut and run and go back to his team as soon as the estate's all dealt with. That is, until he gets invited inside Yeast And Sugarcane bakery – and meets a certain grumpy ex-Jersey baker....

Buck closed his eyes, but all he could see was that moment when Eddie had been shot, replaying over and over The pillow smelled like Eddie, the shirt smelled like Eddie, the whole bed smelled like Eddie, but Buck wanted the real thing.
And when Buck had left the hospital, Eddie had smelled like antiseptic and sterile hospital clothing.
Buck turned over, pulling the other pillow close and wrapping himself around it. He squeezed his eyes shut, but saw Eddie just getting shot over and over again.
He fumbled for his phone on the nightstand and pulled up Netflix, finding a nice, quiet documentary that he could watch until he hopefully passed out.

The room was just starting to get light when Buck woke up. Netflix hadn’t asked him if he was still watching, so he hadn’t been asleep that long, but Christopher would probably be up soon, and he’d need all of Buck’s attention.
“About time you woke up,” Eddie said from behind him.
“Why didn’t you wake me then?” Buck replied, scrubbing a hand over his face.
“You looked like you needed the sleep.”
Buck shook himself, trying to wake up. “Yeah, well, if you hadn’t been sh—”
