Harvesting knife held in one upper tentacle and his spear held in both hands, Izuku lunges forward toward that sound.
Toward the terrified hatchling who’d screamed so loudly it set every nerve inside of Izuku to boiling.

Soul bonds are weird, that’s what Izuku knows. There are four types; soulmates, parental, Platonic, and sibling. Most kids pop out with their parents’ bond wrapped around their wrists to their elbows. The two colors twist around each other, making intricate designs.
So when Izuku was born with no color’s twinning up to his elbow, his parents were confused. How could a child be parentless? He had a mom and dad, they were right there. Even the doctors were confused as to why his right arm was stark white.
Izuku’s third birthday hit and they watched as an orange explosion materialized on Izuku’s arm, just as a green cat materialized on Bakugo Katsuki’s arm. And as they’re ring fingers glew softly in the light. Not enough to alert the children.

Summary
Izuku had long since resigned himself to the fiction that his father was “working overseas”. He knew better, of course, but that was the story he and his mother told people whenever they asked about his father.
The truth was, “Midoriya Hisashi” doesn’t exist. “Midoriya” was the name his mother chose when she married his father, named after the hair color she and her husband shared that Izuku ended up inheriting. And his father worked in Tokyo, close enough to visit most days and never stayed away for more than a week, two at the most if he was incredibly busy. Izuku always knew his father loved him, knew that he wanted to be with Izuku and Inko as much as possible, and that if he had to stay away for awhile it was because of work and not because of want.
But Izuku would be lying if he said he didn’t hate all the lying he had to do, that he didn’t want to tell people how amazing and loving and supportive his father really was. Izuku wanted to scream at his bullies, at everyone who looked down on him because he was Quirkless, that he could be a Hero, that his father fought functionally Quirkless and he was the only Hero to ever be a sidekick to All Might!

“Everything will be okay.” Izuku, the vigilante, startled as a voice behind him spoke. The voice being gruff and low. Izuku tried to speak; however, before he could open his mouth, it was blocked by a large hand resting firmly but gently on it, silencing him.
He just wanted to go on another nightly patrol, just like he always did when he couldn't fall asleep. He should've just went home as soon as he had the feeling of being watched. He knew he should've trusted his gut and ran. But he didn't, and now this is where it took him. Damn him and his stupidity.
“You’ll be safe with me.” The voice continued as Izuku started to struggle, trying to break free of the man’s hold on him, tears prickling in his eyes. He was tightly pressed against the man’s chest and held firmly by his strong arms.

For his part, Izuku tries to be friendly, but people are always put off by his eyes. Aside from Hatsume Mei, the dubiously sane inventor, and Nedzu, the principal of the greatest Heroics school in Japan, that is.
Honestly? Izuku just wanted to go into hero analysis. But the Dread Powers very rarely care about the desires of humans.
