Summary

The Port Mafia responds by handing them a carefully traumatized teenager, a fake rescue, and a narrative so convincing even the heroes don’t realize they’re part of the plan. Chuuya pretends to be helpless, Dazai pretends not to be involved, and Mori pretends this isn’t hilarious. Everyone is lying. The heroes think they’re winning.

“Light, what are you doing?” Her eyes locked with his, impossibly large in the dim light of his computer, pupils entirely swallowing the irises - a fact for which he was glad. The less he saw of that crimson glint within them, the better. He found himself wishing, again, hypocritically, that she’d tell the truth, reveal some sliver of her intentions. And yet, he was also sure that no one knew her as well as he did. She pulled away just slightly, enough that he could see her whole face - her ridiculously lovely face, looking almost soft.
“Come on, L, you know what I’m doing.”

The author beautifully webbed the storyline by using use of biblical references and immaculate symbolism. The imagery is over the roof and I feel like my brain has been rearranged for science, just to be out in a data case file for no one to view until years later when people need the info the most. PLEASE reread and experience this again! 💐
