Summary
There’s something in him blooming, budding with the kind of desire Yamato has only heard in ballads and prayers. He lingers on the battlefield, taking in the violent vortex of emotion tearing up his insides. He finds that fire in him still bright and hungry for kindling, seeing the god drenched in red and flame as his spark.
Treading back to the shade, he stalls when the breeze carries with it something… sweet. Sickening so, akin to when fruit ripens beyond edibility and drops heavy with spoiled insides spilling. Or when fat burns, bodies descent into decay as they’re rendered soft and returned to the earth through slow rot. It stirs that fire in him, a breeze that feeds into the part of his powers that seek life, starves for it.
He turns, seeking the one to smell so sweet and like death.
But there is nothing.
Unknowing of the subtle presence of a young god standing solitary in a field of red viscera. The scent of heavy iron and cold smoke fading as the subtle sweetness of rebirth rises in its place.
-- Or: Endo Yamato is a bored god. Takiishi Chika is a god that sparks his interest. Sakura Haruka ends up caught in the middle.

Rudo doesn’t remember a time his hands didn’t hurt. It’d be weirder for him to try and imagine a time they didn’t hurt, because then he’d be making shit up, and Rudo was never good with his imagination. Not with things he didn’t understand, couldn’t understand. It just made him… weird. Well, weirder. Distant. The thoughts would spiral, spinning and spinning till they left him dizzy, body threatening to throw up all his gross, rotted insides all over his shoes and then he’d be pissed off and confused and… empty. So, so empty. But then the pain would remind him he was real and rotted and then he wouldn’t feel so empty because the pain would fill him up, up, up. No empty space left to worry about.
That pain was everything, it was all he’d ever known. That persistent, prickling, nerve pinching pain of whatever fucked up shit his parents persecuted their infant son to has been like a phantom in his bones since before, well, just before. Before Regto. Everything before Regto was bad and terrible and something to be forgotten. Before Regto was painful, pure agony. And now, after Regto…
It was unbearable.
Or: This is a story about hurting. This is a story about healing.

Summary
It wasn’t until just before high school when he was looking up buss tickets for when he’d move to Furin that he even thought of looking the word up. And yeah, he was pretty on the mark.
The context did clear up some comments he remembers hearing, but it sent his brain spinning on why anyone who even had a name for this kind of behavior. Was this something people did? Sakura wasn’t an anime guy, never had the opportunity for it, but he didn’t think this was terribly common. He can’t recall anyone from his own middle schools wearing white bandages on their arms or eye patches or fingerless gloves before. None of the guys with dyed hair or weird clothes he fought ever tried to cast spells or yell out their moves. He didn’t understand any of this.
But maybe he just missed them. Maybe he’d never meet someone like that, and it’d only ever be him people thought was a Chuuni.
But then he arrived at Furin High School was immediately proven wrong. Sort of.

"Move in with me."
Haruka blinks. Huh? Did Momijikawa just say that? He didn't see his lips move, but it's not like there's anybody else there. He doubts the ghost of Momijikawa's grandmother is making such ludicrous statements.
"W-what?"
In Sakura's time of need, Momijikawa offers him a place to stay. Surely, this will change nothing about their relationship.

Earth barely managed to avoid its own annihilation thanks to the last second assistance of new alien visitors. Slowly, civilizations that had been nearly destroyed through nuclear warfare, famine, and disease are rebuilt with the Autobots' help.
But the Autobots' assistance isn't entirely altruistic. Earth has something they want. Because mixed with the millions of others are humans with spark signatures and the potential to become sparklings. And the Autobots who had believed they were doomed to a slow extinction, have no intention of letting their new little ones go.
