"We'll see about that." Phil smirked, letting Etoiles' hand drop as he took his place on the opposite end of the fire, Etoiles' staring at Phil with such an intensity that it sent a shiver of anticipation through him. "Etoiles. By stepping into the fire you renounce all prior associations. You will be our pack, you will be Bolas. I welcome you."
Etoiles jumped, landing solidly in front of Phil with only a momentary grimace, but then he was looking at Phil again, every inch of him taut with obvious tension.
"Feels good, feels good..." He said, almost breathily, his hands twitching where they were resting at his side. "Can we fuck now?"

Well. You went to L’manberg, or the ashes of what were left behind, shovel in hand, and dug him up yourself. Dream was gone now, nobody cared about the process. Even your own actions just months before felt like eons ago. The process doesn’t matter; he’s a body in the ground, and then he’s not.
The fact of the matter is, you weren’t thinking that maybe after everything was over and you actually got him back, there would be some permanent consequences.
