Riz’s smile grows as he steps into the small foyer and is greeted by the sight of his husband.

Riz was completely in over his head now, no longer in any control of his own actions. He felt desperate now, as if he were clawing for something to hold onto, something to keep close to, some sort of comfort. Was this what it was supposed to be like?
He felt like he was pitching off a cliff, adrenaline making his blood pump too quickly and his ears ring and his brain scream.Maybe not. People didn't usually describe romance as a rush of panic, of feeling sick, of uncertainty and genuine fear.
Yet underneath that fear was something undeniably sweet, and he wanted to find that. He kept going.

Sklonda hates IEP meetings. She feels bad for hating them because Individualized Education Plans are one of the best ways her son gets services but they never not infuriate her. She always ends up exhausted and upset after them, no matter how much progress has been made. But again, it’s how her son gets services and there are good things that come from them, there are, so she packs up from work early and heads to her son’s school just after noon.
