Therefore, when freshly orphaned Dick Grayson arrives at the gates of Wayne Manor, it is to a bleak and still in mourning family. He is not even given enough time to unpack his meagre set of belongings before he’s packing them again and is shipped off to a boarding school halfway across the globe.

And then another.
And so on and so forth.
By the time he’s sixteen, he runs away from the worst of the lot, sick of being shafted off from place-to-place like an unwanted stray. Somehow, in his lowest moment, he catches the eye of a strange one-eyed mercenary, who presents him with an offer too good to refuse.

If I die, I will haunt this author simply to discover the ending to this fic. Seriously, there's no other Fairy Tail fic that has me in such an iron grip. I think about this all the time. I dream about this. I want to go into this fic and give Natsu a big hug. This just brings me back to the magic of fan fiction and anime like I'm 11 years old all over again.

Transfer student Daniel works in the new coffee shop after school, near J High. In no time, the place becomes a hotspot. A beautiful barista and a cute streamer. A smexy intern and a famous actor. It’s a great combination that brings a lot of customers in.

My favorite Lookism fic. While Legacy will also be the beginning of my obsession, this fic is everything I love about fan fiction itself; it's hilarious, just a little this side of sane, and has such a unique premise that I wish other people would capitalize on. Four Daniels could be hard to handle, but the author makes each and every one of them unique.

If I could crawl into this author's brain to discover how the rest of this fic will play out, I would. Kickstarted the type of obsession over Lookism that I don't think I could explain to anyone else. This is my favorite Daniel characterization, period. It's funny and charming while also being so, so compelling. I never thought you could make me care about Daniel's father, yet I was up at 3am biting my lip while reading his backstory.

I want to eat this fic. It is simply perfection. And its sequels are just as delicious. While I normally dislike modern or non-mythical PJO AUs, this fic is so uniquely amazing and holds special space in my heart. One of the only fics I've ever recommended to people IRL. This is what fan fiction is for. The pacing is perfection and the plot is so well-crafted that I could teach a class on it.
