    Summary

Most Avians don't survive the loss of thier Flocks. They're not meant to, not really, hardwired as they are to bond so closely with other Avians. Legundo is one of cursed lucky few who survived his sundering.

He wasn't happy about it, and everyone left in his life knew that. But he lived, for them if no one else, and got better. It took time, it was hard, but he was still here. Still healing, still helping, still hurting.

Five years on, on a vacation he doesn't even really want to take, and the damaged Avian finds himself dragged into a FUBAR situation that makes Iraq look like a picnic in comparison. Magical barriers(?), vampires(???), people who are friendly and want to take care of him(??????) are almost more than he can take. But in the melee, maybe he finds a soft place to land, soft ginger curls and laughing amber eyes- softness and joy and warmth that he wasn't sure he was even allowed anymore, not since....

Well, first he has to get out of this place. Feelings and mental health can totally come later. Right?

Probably not if Cleo and Pearl have anything to say about it.

    Summary

"My, you have been busy," Scott said, and Legundo did not look at Scott's eyes— shut them in fact, when Scott grabbed his chin and forced his face forward. He could smell that cold breath now, like a funeral parlor, and pulled away with a grimace, hand moving to his belt—

Scott snatched that up as well, and with a twist and a surge of inhuman strength, pressed Legundo flat to the table. His breath left him in a rush, and Scott laughed.

Scott was shorter than Legundo, and much lighter as well. The only thing keeping him planted on the ground was his own body weight, and Legundo had the advantage of leverage.

He still had a hand free. Legundo grabbed on to the collar of Scott's elegant coat, and put a knee into the vampire's stomach. He had the satisfaction of seeing surprise in Scott's eyes— before he was handily thrown clean off of Legundo, and over the far side of the table.

He would not get the element of surprise again.

(Or; Legundo gets bit by EVERY Vampire at some point or another, for varying reasons.)

    He was so unbearably tired.

What you did will haunt you forever, your brain will get stuck in a cycle of "you need to do your duties, you need to do your duties" even if you've been discharged. Your brain will try and act on those duties and your body will go along.

OR, Legundo wakes up thinking he needs to heal Clown. He doesn't.
