“A couple of photos together before the rest of the team comes in too. Wille, here, could you hold this up with Simon,” the photographer asks, handing Wille one of the royal blue jerseys the team wears. Lifting up the shirt and handing it for Simon to hold he sees the ‘Eriksson 10’ printed on the back.
“Did they actually ask you which number you want or…” Wille asks Simon, in Swedish then, the first question of the night that isn’t at least partially scripted. Looking over he sees the man crack a wide smile and shake his head in a small motion, making sure it’s not noticeable in the photos.
“No, though I’m sure someone in my team was asked about it and they just said pick whichever number you want,” he answers.

The whole family seems to be in agreement that he is in a tumultuous and dangerous phase, that he could easily be steered in the wrong direction and cause perhaps unforeseen levels of PR damage, but Erik wonders whether his parents truly grasp how sensitive this life phase is for Wilhelm. It is a gut feeling, an inkling, that tells him to watch out for his little brother. Now more than ever.

Wilhelm adjusts much quicker to boarding school life than Erik expected. Time to pop the champagne corks and consider his enrollment at Hillerska a success story? Not yet.

There was no blueprint for these conversations he and Simon had been forced to have, nothing. How were they supposed to talk about this stuff? The traumas they shared, the traumas they didn’t, the blurry lines between those transforming into a dark fog every and honesty was the only light they had, a stupid, dull flashlight, and he and Simon fought their way through the thick fog, trying to find each other, trying not to trip over the brambles of the memories and the headlines and the reality of the things they’d been through, together and apart.
Two years after the video, they still haven’t escaped.

It's dark now and the streetlights they pass under every minute or so are dancing pale light over Wille’s hands which are wrapped around the steering wheel.
Simon can't help but to stare at the wiry veins that travel up his wrist and forearm, at the way his skin practically glows when the light hits it.
