Summary
Peter’s gotten used to Gotham by now. The thousand little sounds that build up to the cacophony of a city in controlled chaos. But it isn’t home, and it never will be, and the more time passes, the more that thought makes him twitch. He’s frustrated by it, annoyed that he feels like he’s forcing his way through a world that doesn’t belong to him. Worse, the Soul Stone is starting to become more and more of an issue. As if it senses something coming.
Tony's last words had been 'the threat always comes back.' Thanos won't be thwarted forever, only delayed. Eventually, he's going to hunt down the stray Soul Stone that Peter holds.
The Bats have a few opinions on that. The Avengers that have fallen into this other world have a few of their own. And there's the problem of Dr. Strange's letter...

Summary
After the world forgot him, Peter kept fighting. He was Spider-Man after all. But as the villains get worse and the heroes dwindle, Peter finally grows tired. Hasn't he done his time? He's never once shirked the responsibility forced upon him. Never once has he put himself first.
Eventually, the straw breaks the camel's back. Peter finally hangs up the cape.
Unfortunately the universe seems to disagree. When Peter wakes up in Gotham he knows he should probably find a way home. But what's the point? Normal people don't find their way home across the multiverse, and Peter is normal now. He refuses to be anything else.
So why do unfamiliar heroes keep ending up on his doorstep? And can he really turn them away?
--
In which Peter Parker just wants to retire but instead he becomes a mentor for young dcu heroes and his home becomes a vigilante halfway house

“This is the most thought that anyone, of all time, ever, has put into adjusting a driver’s seat, Eddie.”
“Buck—”
“I’m serious. That rearview mirror has lived through so many angles and lives in the past six minutes that it’s about to start recounting its first-hand experience on the Titanic.”
Just for that, Eddie reaches up between them and tweaks the mirror again. A ray of sunlight hits it and bounces across Buck’s eyeline. Buck’s face scrunches up as he rushes to shield his forehead with one hand. It does not remind Eddie whatsoever of a small, bashful dog hiding behind its soft paw, because that would be deranged. He twists the mirror back into position.
“The Titanic probably would have gotten us to Nashville better than this truck.”
Buck’s indignant squawk rings out in time with the turnover of the engine as Eddie hits the ignition.

Stiles Stilinski would like it known that he did not intend to break the law. Or get a new boyfriend. Or be forcefully adopted and recruited by the BAU. He never intended to solve murders, just as he never intended to get his best friend turned into a Halloween stereotype. Though he doesn't regret it, he would like to blame it on Scott and Jackson for leaving Stiles and Danny unsupervised in a lockable room with alcohol. Honestly, their lives would have been much simpler if they had just stuck to the normal teenage things like making out, instead of hacking the BAU.

You created a Group Chat with PG and 5 others. The Lawston Butcher was a woman, not a dude. Pretty sure she was your third witness, Mrs. Alfia.
DM: What?
George Gelding wasn’t one of her victims, which threw off your data. His killer just used the Butcher’s method to throw off the trail. Also, his killer was most likely Kyle Freeden.
AH: Thank you for your input on one of our past cases. May we have your name for the record of the tip?
LOL no. I’m drunk, not stupid.

Summary
Ever since they flew into the heart of a hurricane to search for the cruise ship lost at sea, which happened to be the one their captain and his wife were on, Buck has had own storm of jealousy brewing inside him. Between a girlfriend and a new best friend, Eddie never seems to have any time for him anymore. Is he being selfish wanting Eddie to pay attention to him? Bouncing around him like an overeager puppy screaming look at me, look at me? Maybe. He knows his abandonment issues can turn pretty ugly. But maybe he can get somewhat of a handle on things with a bit of self-reflection, and maybe learn a few new things about himself.
On top of everything, someone might be trying to kill him.

Eddie frowns. “What didn’t go away?”
“My math, uh…after the lightning, I was really good at math? That…hasn’t gone away.”
“Oh.” Eddie blinks, then, “What?” Because he could’ve sworn…but looking back on it, there's no reason to think that it went away. No reason except…for the hours he has dedicated to making Eddie's son teach him math.

“I’m still a firefighter,” Eddie says adamantly. “That hasn’t changed.”
“But you have,” Buck counters. “You used to be the one who talked sense into me. You were the guy who made me think twice. But since you got back from Texas, you’re the one being stupid and reckless. Running into fires against orders, diving off fifty foot bridges--”
“You know, you’re such a hypocrite,” Eddie steps forward, jabbing an accusatory finger into Buck’s chest. “You would have done exactly the same thing if I hadn’t done it first.”
OR: Buck confronts Eddie about his recent recklesness.

"Hey, sorry about that, I was just—Eddie?”
Eddie’s head shot up at the sight of Buck, frozen halfway towards his seat. “Buck?”
Buck let out an awkward chuckle and glanced around. “There must be a mix-up, I’ll go ask—”
“No!” Eddie practically yelled the word, and then he winced at the desperation in his own voice. Belatedly, he realized it was possible that people who were interested in men were supposed to be sitting there. But Buck was watching him with wide eyes, still paused leaning on his chair, so Eddie added, “I could use a six-minute break. You know, from finding out how many siblings every woman in this bar has.”
Buck’s eyes glinted in the dim bar lighting. He finally took the seat and asked, “oh, so you don’t care about how many siblings I have?”
——
Eddie and Buck finally go on a date. It just takes them three times to realize it.

The silence that settles over the room could wake up the dead. Buck doesn’t even dare peek between his fingers, because he’s pretty sure if he has to see Eddie’s reaction he will liquefy into a puddle on the floor. The quiet stretches, only broken up by the hum of the fridge starting back up, until there’s a distinct metallic sound. Like a fork being gently put down on a counter, maybe.
“Did you–” Eddie’s voice cracks, and he clears his throat. “Did you just say semen cookbook?”

Sighing, Eddie closes his crossword book for good and tosses it on the table before he stands. He never could leave Buck sad and pouting for long. “If you’re really serious about this, I’ll do it.”
Buck jerks his head up. “What?”
“I’ll be your practice partner” —Eddie gestures to him— “or whatever you want to call it.”
“But you're straight.” Buck says it as an unequivocal fact. His mouth is pressed into a firm line. The corners start to twitch into a full on frown again like he’s disappointed.
It almost has Eddie wanting to say, ‘Yeah, I’m disappointed in me too.’
Instead, he musters through the weird twisted knot persisting in his gut and plasters on a smile. “Which is perfect for you so you don’t have to worry about anyone catching feelings.”

“Can someone hold my hand?” Fear, pain and exhaustion are etched on her face. Eddie’s heart breaks for her.
“Of course. Of course.” Hen reassures her.
“Can I get the himbo?”
Hen lets out a joyful bark of laughter. “I see the pain meds have kicked in. Plenty of choice for himbos here.”
“Buck!” Eddie shouts. “You’re needed over here”. Every word feeling wretched. He doesn’t want to watch Buck hold her hand and whisper softly to her that everything is going to be alright. He can’t bear to see someone get everything he wants right now.

Summary
Control has always been Eddie’s thing. Not because he likes it or it makes him feel powerful. But because control is what had seeped into his bones at eight years old when he became the man of the house, and he never knew how to let it go. And, Eddie has learned, over and over, that other people’s control often comes with a cost he’s the one expected to pay. His father’s control of the Diaz family left Eddie in charge. His mother’s control over the Diaz family reputation led him to standing outside a gay bar at 32 and not 18 with a fake ID just to get a taste.
He thinks of his father. The way Ramon Diaz can look at you and make it feel like you’re eight years old again, standing too straight, trying too hard, waiting for judgment. Eddie thinks of his mother’s quiet commentary, the way she can make disappointment sound like concern and call it love. He thinks of church—stale incense, polished wood, the heavy expectation that you were supposed to come in already knowing the rules and abide by them, or else.
Hen’s voice loops in his head, calm and offhand.Dating shouldn’t feel like a performance.
or, Eddie Diaz falls in love with Buck and it makes him question everything he knows

Summary
Buck was sobbing by the end of the song, but he still played it again. Because it felt so much like his life right then. He was terrified and haunted. By everything he’d been through and so much of it involved Eddie that there was no denying it anymore even if he wanted to. He’d been so stupid to think he didn’t love his best friend. And it hurt so much because he knew it would never be reciprocated. Eddie could accept people in his life being queer, but he’d never accept being that way himself. Buck didn’t know if Eddie was or wasn’t in love with him too, but that didn’t matter. Because the way Eddie made Buck feel was enough. As the song played on, Buck just felt how much he loved Eddie and how he’d already accepted the heartache that came with it. He was heartbroken for something he’d never gotten and would never get to have.

Buck listens to music and finally processes his emotions about all the crap that happened in his life. Ravi joins him, Hen and Chimney are confused and worried, and Eddie is sticking to avoidance and internal panic, as is his way.

Eddie Diaz is just driving home. That’s it. That’s the plan.
Then a Zara Larsson song comes on the radio and suddenly it feels like summer in his chest, like the windows are down inside his soul, and like maybe—hypothetically—he has been in love with his best friend Evan Buckley for years and simply did not notice.
Eddie Diaz did not mean to come out to himself via pop music.
But honestly? He could’ve done worse. -

“I think my hairline is receding,” Buck says, flinging himself dramatically into a deck chair. “That can happen with testosterone, you know!”
“I’m all too aware,” Bobby says wryly.
“Your hair looks great, Cap,” Buck says seriously. “I can only hope to have your follicular density at such an advanced age.”
“Watch it,” Bobby tells him, and Buck grins up at him.
“I have to start shaving,” he says. “I’m getting scruffy. Isn’t that awesome? Do you think I could pull off a beard?”

Eddie frowns at her through the rearview mirror. “What do you need to be distracted from?” The traffic in front of them is inching forward and Eddie’s car rolls ahead slowly.
Gwen lets out a long, slightly shaky breath. “The fact that I just spent a week with my homophobic family and now I’m going to go home and tell my best friend I’m in love with her.”
Eddie stops a little too suddenly, enough that Gwen’s seatbelt tightens and stops her from flopping forward. “Ah.”
