Summary
Lucifer was gradually coming out of his depression, slowly regaining the desire to do things. He had spent so many years just... waiting for time to pass, losing his wife... moving away from his daughter. But now that he was regaining control of himself, things were different. He wanted to be there for his daughter, he wanted to get involved, enough to agree to make an effort to socialize with the demons he had hated so much before.
The videos circulating about the latest Exorcist attack will cause him a lot of trouble. His face is recognized again in the streets, he won't be able to go out as much as he used to. Reducing his sources of distraction, which was his only method of occupying his mind to prevent him from sinking again.
So he's trying to find a way to have fun and pass the time. A demon particularly seeks to provoke him, which he finds entertaining.
Things will eventually change, when Alastor discovers why the king's presence disturbs him so much. That's not a reason he could have imagined possible.
