Summary
At night Darcy is left to his own thoughts, overwhelmed by a growing affection for one Elizabeth Bennet.
This work takes place chronologically at various points throughout Pride and Prejudice, following Darcy's thoughts throughout the whole. I am aiming to make this as accurate as possible to the characters, and plot of Pride and Prejudice(though maybe a little hornier), drawing mainly on the book and occasionally on the 1995 show when it provides more context. I am also endeavouring to make the language and actions as accurate as possible to the time period and have included author notes about some of my choices of historical inclusions because what else is my history degree good for.
I characterize Darcy as quite sexually reserved, worried about being improper while having overall quite tame thoughts that gradually grow stronger.

At least until he leaves Hertfordshire and realizes he is also a man who has stupidly left something very valuable behind.

Darcy knew he wasn't meant to be standing there, overhearing their private discourse. It wasn't gentlemanly or within the correct proprietary rules to do so. With all these in consideration, he should have taken his leave.
But the mention of a familiar name that came into the conversation made him pause. The tone in which it was said and what followed became etched in his mind and conscience for many years to come.
