Harvey’s mouth was close to your ear, his lips soft and the slightest bit wet as he nipped at your lobe. His voice was low, shaky as he said “Call Lewis and tell him you’re sick. You’re staying home.”

Elliott leans forward, the tip of his nose tracing your cheekbone. “One doesn’t pick a flower only to subject it to a deluge. There are so many ways it can delight the senses in its natural state.”
“You put flowers in water…” you try, but it’s too late. Elliott’s nose is at your hairline now, right behind your ear, at the nape of your neck where you’d been sweating all day.
He breathes in deep, and it sounds loud in the quiet little world the two of you have found yourself in. “Mouthwatering,” he whispers, and his lips press gently against your neck.

A massive horse galloped over the hills outside Imperial Zuzu City, black as the night that squeezed in around Clint as he held tight to the horse’s back with his legs. Artichoke was a draft horse, used to hauling heavy loads, and wasn’t supposed to be running this far for this long. Clint knew this, but had no other option, so he had shod her well and her long legs did the rest.
The man, the prince, secured behind Clint was shouting, but his voice was muffled by the gag that Clint had tied around his head before binding his hands and feet and dragging him out of the castle.***********************************************************************
