Backupsmore University is the bonfire that attracts failures yearly, with what is supposed to be the endearing slogan of "you tried" and the offer of "mostly bug-free dorms" that not any average failure can pass up. However, Fiddleford Hadron McGucket is no failure, and he intends to prove that and more during his time at the Hellhole called BMU.
However, his succint plan to invent man's greatest contraptions and become world-renowned as the rags-to-riches story of a poor, Southern farmboy to a nationally acclaimed inventor are swiftly interrupted by an objectively good-looking young man named Stanford Filbrick Pines with a similar desire to grasp recognition in his hands.
They'd each do their time at BMU, and get out like that. No need to be buddy-buddy with each other. Or so they hoped, considering that both men had their secrets to keep, and an aching curiosity about each other that just had to be satiated.
