Mari never died on the day of the accident. Basil had called for help, and she was left in a coma. All because of Sunny.
This was a fact his parents struggled to come to terms with. They decided they no longer wanted to continue taking care of him, and forfeited all parental rights, leaving Sunny to bounce around in the foster care system. His friends have no idea where he is and no method of contacting him.
The group was left to cope with the loss of 2 dear friends, though neither of them died. Was it really so unrealistic to think they’d see Sunny again one day? Or to think that Mari would ever wake up?

Basil is suffering, his grandmother is getting worse and worse every day.
Kel is trying to get their group back together.
And Mari... Mari regrets what she said, but now she can't take it back and she's too busy to try to fix it. Maybe when she has time, she'll fix it.
OR
The boy finally pulls his friend out of the rotting in the house, but some wrong things happen, some wrong words are said, and now the group of friends has to pick up the pieces to not lose their little brother.
Will they be able to?
