Body splitter quirks are rare types of emitter quirk. In most recorded cases, the splitting is of different emotional states of the effected, with the rare instance of the splitting being different memory ages of the effected. All recorded cases have a time limit of the effect and, unlike most self-splitter Quirks, are registered around the world.
So it's a surprise when interacting with one Midoriya Izuku, that's not what happens at all.

He looked back up just in time to see a body fall from where the site of the blip. Its acceleration was slowed, but still plummeting fast. With a powerful kick of his legs, he flew forward, meeting them halfway. He gathered them in his arms and carefully touched back down.

The Hero Public Safety Commission implements a new publicity stunt meant to drum up some good PR. Heroes and civilians will get anonymously paired up as pen pals for a few months. Fans get to talk to heroes, and the HPSC gets to say their heroes are down-to-earth and involved with the people. It’s a win-win. All Might doesn’t need the publicity, but he feels like it’s a good opportunity nonetheless, so he enrolls in the event.
Problem is, All Might’s pen pal writes some pretty concerning stuff. He’s sure the kid is being bullied. And even worse… the ‘anonymous’ person on the other side begins to sound a lot like a certain successor of his. He’s going to get to the bottom of this. And if he finds out somebody’s hurt a single hair on his student’s head? Well… he’s the number one hero for a reason.
(AKA: the dadmight-centric Aldera Faces Consequences fic I’ve always wanted to write.)

He knows this is the end of an era. And his heart breaks for the wounded blond titan lying in the hospital bed not fifteen feet away.
Watching him struggle for air after breathing the particulates of collapsed buildings, and the black smoke of burning gas and oil amidst all the destruction, Shouta can't help wondering why he'd even felt compelled to come here. Why he'd climbed all those stories outside the hospital building, and why he now sat in the open window, like a covert sentry working the night shift. Desperate to confirm that All Might was okay, and drowning in a sea of conflicting emotions that he just can't seem to shake...

Izuku, according to our sources, was celebrating his fifth birthday today, leading authorities to believe that a candle may have been the culprit, but it’s still too early to say. Inko’s body has been recovered, but authorities are still working to find Izuku’s. There have been no other casualties and no major damages to surrounding units. We offer our condolences to those living in the area, and to the Midoriya’s. We hope they find Izuku soon…”
Nine years after being taken, Izuku gives up hope of ever being rescued.
