Summary

Summary
A collection of short stories I'll post one by one as I complete them. Designed to fill in, expand on, and answer questions the final season didn't. Intended to fit with canon, so I'm not making a new ending. The first story, "The Lich" is events from the end of the season from Vecna's POV with some explanations from him too. Each story is titled after a D&D term or class. Future stories will continue to weave between the lines of the show and carry on past it. Summary
Recovery was such a capricious word. Everything hinged on different elements, timelines, phases that seemed to ebb and flow at their own leisure. It was a word Max had grown to hate, to loathe.
And of course the recovery process wasn’t easy or linear, or at least that’s what every doctor and nurse would tell her much to Max’s annoyance.
But then again, she wasn’t supposed to be here to see this side of recovery, so I guess she should be grateful.

And, like clockwork, Max answers by flipping him the bird. “No, Steve, I’m just gonna wait nine months and surprise him with it,” she deadpans. Then, after a beat, “Of course, I told him, moron!”
Steve scowls, throwing his hands up in mock surrender. Yep, he thinks to himself, she’s back. “Okay, geez. Who pissed in your cornflakes this morning?”
