Summary
Soap had never enjoyed the rain. He preferred the warmer days back at home over the weeks of rain and clouds.
Ghost adored the storms, however. He would even stand outside when it was raining.
"What did you want to be when you were a wee un, Simon?" Soap was drunk. Way too drunk to be outside slipping on puddles.
Simon sighs like he's inconvenienced and wraps an arm under his shoulders. His thumb presses into the Las Almas scar. "I wanted to be kind. But if I think if I had a secon' chance... I'd like to be sumthin' useful. Like rain... storms. I quite like them."
TLDR;
Soap and Ghost have a conversation that gets brought up one too many times. Until the conversation can't be brought up anymore.

“I wasn’t saving you,” Simon said. “I was saving him.”
Johnny’s brow knitted in confusion.
“If I left you to handle that scumbag, you might’ve just torn his throat open right at the kitchen table,” He deadpanned. “Don’t think I don’t see the way you bite a thread loose when you’re sewing. There’s bloodlust in those eyes, love.”
He tensed minutely, not meaning to let the pet name slip out, but the other man didn’t seem phased. Johnny threw his head back and cackled. Simon watched the way those eyes shined with mirth, and thought he might kill the next time someone tried to insult this precious omega. He ached, breathing through his nose shallowly, trying not to smell Johnny’s scent too deeply, lest he forget himself and lean forward to nose along his warm neck.
“What am I going to do with you, Riley?” Johnny asked, fondly. Simon shrugged with the other shoulder, careful not to dislodge Johnny’s grip on his hand.
Keep me, he thought. Let me keep you.
