(Part one of me expanding on my very specific headcanon that Fyodor and Dazai are petty exes and that’s why they are the way that they are now.)
This will be a four-part series, showing: the beginning of their relationship; the middle (which is this chapter, but I might make a few more short one-shots set in this period); the end of their relationship; and then when they meet again during the DOA/current arc.
This chapter is set during the two years between Dazai leaving the mafia and joining the ADA. He lives in St. Petersburg, Russia, the hometown of Fyodor Dostoevsky, in an attempt to clear his mind and start a new life away from Yokohama. “You look handsome, my love,” He says with his voice low and mellow. His eyelids flutter closed for a second while he appreciates how close their bodies are together, and he takes in her scent as if it’s the last thing he’ll ever do. He thanks the universe for making them almost the same height because it means that he can rest his head on her shoulders and hug her without any obstacles. “I missed you.”
