Atsushi made a move to stand up before he heard the cup clink against the table once more, hard. Some of the coffee landed on the table. He froze, while Akutagawa frowned at him. His eyes moved to Atsushi, then Kiyoshi — who was still eating his egg tart — then back to Atsushi.
“You do not need to leave yet.” He murmured. While Atsushi felt some frustration build up in his stomach. Is this guy serious right now? Akutagawa continued. “It’s been quite a few months since we last saw each other, it would only make sense if we were to catch up.”
Or
Atsushi receives a mission from Mori to find love, but he fails it entirely the first time. Now, months after a heartbreak, the last person he ever expected steps into his path. Will he try again with the person from his past?

Or a new ability user is now on the Agency records and Atsushi is one of the detectives on the case. And he realizes that maybe he just can’t do it when the lingering presence of the hand is exploring his ribcage.

Preparing to sigh and yield to nature, a light obstructed his already minor vision. A lamp was shoved in his face, but the heat of it– even if it was just grazing his cold, pink nose. It burnt. He felt like he was putting his face on fire. He tried to move away, it was too much. Too hot. Atsushi felt like he was melting but strong unyielding hands grabbed his elbows and pulled him into the unfamiliar body.

Atsushi's thighs tensed from the sudden, but wanted friction, as he started grinding his hips against his own palm and the white-haired man looked up through heavy lids — he could still see the nervous thrill in the sliver he was given — a small, breathless smile tugging at his lips.“You can do it now.”
So selfless at the hands of the predator.
Perhaps, they both were vanquished in their discoveries of each other at their most vulnerable. He refused to be privy to that, if they were to do this then he would make sure they did it in a destructive way.

Summary
Some moments are better left in the past, yet a small fraction of memories make up the core of who one is.
Atsushi had done this for Akutagawa.
So, when he had seen him in school again, there was nothing more in his heart than the desire to understand what he had done to Atsushi to deserve this unrelenting coldness, but the solution was not that simple.
Atsushi convinced himself he desired nothing less than to leave it all behind. Reunion was hard on his ego and unhealthy for his soul. But the heart yearns the same.

And they made a different promise to each other once, one much more important than any other, and that has to mean something. No one is allowed to kill you but me.
He just has to hope that Akutagawa won’t let him rot anyway.
