Summary

10 years ago, Earth made first contact with a semi-aquatic alien species called Cepholonians, who were seeking warm-blooded species to incubate their young. A treaty was formed, and the Human and Reproductive Technology Program (the H.A.R.T Program) was founded, which allowed humans to apply to become an incubator for aliens.
Ambrose Harker is a 21 year old college student studying marine biology. When the impending stress of paying student loans becomes too high, he applies to the H.A.R.T. Program in order to pay off his loans, and gets matched with the prince of the Cepholonians.

Summary
This series takes place a bit of time after an event known as the divide, through which just over a thousand entities seeped from one dimension to another.
In an instant time seems to stop, a jolt surges through the air and she swears she can feel the very earth shaking with its force. Time resumes, and the air before her quakes, distorting like heat off asphalt. But it isn't hot. No, a cold unlike any she's ever felt pours from the distortion. She moves away- can feel the cold seeping through her clothes.
The distortion bulges, edges spreading, parting. Something starts to slip through.The entities that arrive are subsequently nicknamed aberrants, and a taskforce is created to capture them with the ultimate goal to send them back or to destroy them- whichever is most economically viable. In the process, a number of scientists are given leeway to study the aberrants, leading both to the discovery of aberrant mimicry and sentience.
