Three people are listed and those three people are made aware of this, taking an unbreakable vow as a testament to their commitment.
When Severus Snape takes the vow, he does not ever imagine that he will have to fulfill it. His name is merely there for decoration, he thought. However, his thoughts turn up to be nothing but ignorant wishing as Severus found himself in the next year and a half with one Harry Potter. The last resort has turned into the only choice and at twenty-one, Severus knew next to nothing on how to parent a child. He had never planned to have kids but now he must fulfill a vow and try not to think about the fact that the child in his hands looks too little like Lily and too much like James.
In which Severus Snape defects from Voldemort earlier and Lily sees something in him to give out one last chance.

Unfortunately, he knows he is out of his element, and requests the help of a guide in finding it. Erica Crawford is hired as his guide, a not so southern belle of a witch with her own secrets and demons. Their time spent together in the wilderness although entirely too brief, healed parts of them neither expected to heal. They cross paths again and the secrets are flung into the open for all to see, much to the amusement of a still living Albus Dumbledore and the rest of the Hogwarts staff. Snape is eventually pulled into a world he thought he left behind. What could go wrong?
