Certainly not the half-demon in red, who came to kill those very demons. Nor the metal itself, as the blood of the monsters stained its unpolished surface. After all, it had been there so long that people had begun ignoring it. It had lied there so inconspicuously that nobody could tell something was sleeping beneath the dark coat.
Even the metal didn’t know that once the demon blood hit, its human-like eyes would flutter open once again.
