The curve of his nose, the cut of his jaw, the way his brown hair hung loosely in his green eyes. Eyes that were looking back at him, a smug smile glistening through them. Oh.
“You’re staring.”
Grian tore his gaze away, focussing on his frozen fingers.
“No I’m not.”
A soft chuckle, one so unlike his usual burst of giggles, but so familiar all the same. Grian felt his cheeks grow hot, and he pointedly blamed the fire.

Summary
The insurmountable sound of the roof caving in, the support beams failing, and the marble decorations shattering around him seemed to stop all at once. There was nothing but silence. Cold, abrupt, threatening silence.
As quickly as it had begun, the disaster simply ceased.
“Woah,” an unknown voice chimed, echoing through the rubble. A man smiled down at him, his expression bordering somewhere between surprised and amused. “You’ve caused quite a bit of chaos here, haven’t you?”

CuteGuy looked around Scar's apartment, smiling affectionately.
He caught himself, realizing that his heart was in his eyes. It was a little embarrassing to be so unabashedly fond in front of HotGuy.
Speaking of whom… the hero seemed to be breathing heavily. Maybe he’d pushed himself too hard to get here quickly.
“Here, sit down for a minute. You look winded,” CuteGuy said, pointing him to the couch. “Let me get you something to drink.” He went straight for the cupboard to the right of the stove, where Scar kept the glasses.
HotGuy sat down heavily, making a rasping noise in the back of his throat.
Better hurry with that water, Grian thought.Or: Mumbo is out of town, Grian's apartment is being remodeled, and CuteGuy needs a safe place to preen his wings. Suddenly, HotGuy finds himself somewhere much too familiar.

“Hey Cub,” He croaked, his voice cracking around the edges - from sleep or the sudden, dizzying fear bursting to life in his chest, he wasn’t sure. “I found your, uh…your…your thing.”
Grian hadn’t been wrong - it did look like a tattoo, if tattoos could move and pulse and spread across his tanned skin; if tattoos were alive and slowly taking over his body, infecting him. Distantly, Scar once again thought that it was almost pretty, spreading across his collarbones and neck and creeping up the side of his face. It was almost enchanting, in the way the soft glow from his bedside lamp rippled across it and made the dark colors almost shimmer, almost like the sunlight bathing Grian’s wings in its - wait, did it just spread more?
