The box is velvet to the touch. He picks it up and rotates it, admiring the gold-colored embroidery etched around the top and down the sides. The embroidery isn't uniform, there are loops and lines that almost look like cursive writing...
Neuvillette eyes it with a little more scrutiny.
Upon further inspection, the 'gold embroidery' looks like Neuvillette's name.
And the box, it slowly dawns on him, is in fact a ring box.
While taking care of a sick Wriothesley, Neuvillette accidentally comes across an engagement ring, leading to a chain of events he’s not sure he’s prepared for.

Summary
For Freminet, taking the brunt of what he thought was an acid attack aimed towards Spina di Rosula's boss was nothing more than a split second decision. He wouldn't call himself a hero by any stretch of the imagination, and he wouldn't say he led his life with noble and virtuous intentions either...
...but when the urge to help someone comes to him, he ponders little over it. That's just what a good person would do, and Freminet desperately wants to be a good.
(Still, maybe he should have paid more attention to just what was being splashed.)

Freminet dissolves into water. That really should have been the end of it, but it seems like the ocean wasn't keen on letting him go yet.

Venti can pinpoint the instant that Zhongli sees Kaeya’s star-shaped pupil and makes the connection to the land they both helped destroy. His friend is good at hiding his emotions, but it’s easy to attribute his silence to shock.
Zhongli’s hand twitches upward.
Venti is quick to lightly step in front of Kaeya, trusting his tense smile to convey his warning. The wind sharpens momentarily, swirling at their feet.
Zhongli’s hand stops and he takes on a pensive look, gaze flitting from Venti to Kaeya. He closes his eyes after a few seconds and hums, relaxing. “I see,” he murmurs.
Venti accompanies Kaeya and his knights on a diplomatic trip to Liyue; no matter what happens, he can’t allow his friend to meet the Geo Archon. After all, what would Zhongli say if he knew that Venti was willingly harbouring a Khaenri’ahn ex-spy in his city gates? With the added threat of a perpetual shadow looming over them, he has to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Of course, things don’t go as planned.
