Summary
Andy's a 19-year-old living with her best friend preparing for her second year in college when the apocalypse hits, ruining every chance she has at living out her dream. Then she's someone fighting to survive, eventually growing infamous for being pretty good at doing so. Then she's someone chosen to fight in an arena filled with people who also were chosen to fight in an arena after living through some variation of the same thing she did. Then she's someone trying to figure why the apocalypse happened, how, and the not-so-fun little details behind the grand scheme of some stupid all-powerful beings. Yeah, not the most ideal way to spend your life.

Jason’s mind was reeling. “Someone can see us?”
He’d tried everything he could think of to get Bruce and Alfred’s attention since he became a ghost. But even physically floating through their bodies hadn’t elicited a response.
She laughed. “Crazy, ain’t it? I don’t know if he’s a meta or what, but all the ghosts are talking about him.”
If there was someone out there who could see ghosts… then maybe…
Jason had to find him. “Who is he?”
“He’s known by many names… Veil Walker… Reaper… Half-Pint.”
Jason sputtered. “Half-Pint??”
“That’s the wildest shit. It’s a kid. Like a middle schooler.” Delilah threw out one of her hands. “And he’s out here wandering Gotham every night and chatting up the dead.”
Jason could only stare at her. Processing. A kid who could see ghosts... What was this? The Sixth Sense: Gotham edition??

Summary
Tim Drake never actually wanted to become part of the Robin-Batman-vigilante outfit. No, really. But the last Robin up and died, and now Batman is going crazy, and no one else is doing anything about it, so...Tim decides to become Robin. He might as well, right? At the very least it'll give him something to do while his parents are gone.
Still, Tim's not taking up the mantle until he can put a couple of things in order. Step one? Making sure the Joker can't get it into his head to kill another Robin. Not ever again. (Good thing Tim's not the one with a 'no killing' rule.)
And then after that? Well, after that it's only just a matter of keeping Batman from learning Tim's identity and subsequently chasing him off. Not until Bruce can get back on his feet and pick a new Robin, a real one this time. Easy-peasy.

Summary
About a week after that, All Might asked Izuku if he was aiming for the hero course at UA. The question was so sudden that Izuku nearly dropped a microwave on his toes.
The truth was, if All Might had asked him that a week ago, there would have only been one possible answer to that question. All Might had gone to UA, UA was the best, so Izuku was going to go there too, if he could. But things were a little different, now that he was going to receive All Might’s Quirk.
“No,” he said, decisively.
All Might looked caught off guard, which was a very rare expression on him. “No?” he echoed, like he couldn’t believe it.
A laugh bubbled out of Izuku’s throat. He honestly couldn’t believe it either. “No,” he repeated.

Or, All Might tells Izuku about All for One before he gives him One for All, and everything changes.

Best fic I’ve ever read. I’m afraid that there are no contenders, it’s just this one. Izuku is somehow overpowered in the most realistic and interesting way possible, which literally goes against all other OP characters I’ve seen. The writing is amazing, the plot is somehow even better, and the characters have SO MUCH DEPTH. I think the only reason this fic isn’t the most liked BNHA fic out there is because it’s unfinished. This story has changed the course of my life in a way that BNHA fics so often do, and I want to crash out. Thank you to the wonderful author, I pray that one day you get the motivation to continue, and even if you don’t, just know we appreciate you for everything you’ve done and worked for. Thank you!!!!

The first time Peter Parker meets (some of) the Avengers, it's in a sewer and/or warehouse-he wasn't able to get a good look at the place, sue him for his uncertainty-after he had (apparently) gotten kidnapped.
The first time the Avengers meet Spider-Man, he's calling them jerkwads from the top of Hawkeye's roof... according to Hawkeye. In Peter's humble opinion, rooftops are communical property among vigilantes, especially during alien invasions.
OR
Seven times the Avengers were confused about Spider-Man's identity, and one time his identity was revealed.
(A story told over the course of seventeen years, seven different world-ending catastrophes, and a kidnapping.)
