Summary
In the aftermath of Thornhill's death, Tyler struggles to take control of the Hyde and figure out what it means to be his own person again. Weems and Sheriff decide that the best course of action would be to enroll him in Nevermore.
At the same time, on the other side of the country, Xavier's sister has an awakening of her supernatural powers —aka universe once again having a good laugh at her expense— so she's preparing to start the new semester at Nevermore as well.
What begins as an accidental meeting will grow into mutual curiosity and then into something more important than the two of them could ever imagine.

Jayce Talis is an hour and a half away from 30 and he knows with every ounce of certainty in his body that he will never be as happy as he was at 29.
Not being with Viktor at 29 is bearable because Viktor isn’t— wasn’t— with anyone else. Not being with Viktor at 30 or 31 or 50 or 100 is unbearable because, at some point, Viktor will cease to be his. The distinction is enough to make him weak.

”Viktor, can I fuck you?” Jayce knew it was the wrong thing to say as the words escaped his mouth, completely the wrong time as well, but then they were there, free to cause havoc, and he watched Viktor’s face morph from shock to bewilderment to annoyance, the three stages of dealing with Jayce apparently.
“What? Do I not fuck you adequately anymore? Do you have criticisms of my technique?”
If this was Hextech, now would be the point they’d both be ducking for cover behind the desks.***

Summary
Jayce felt as though his mind were a car speeding out of control, and his worries were like a wicked clutch preventing him from braking in time before disaster struck. Nevertheless, the certainty of having Viktor by his side to help him stop his thoughts and take a break, and on top of that, Viktor taking care of him, was enough to comfort him in an immeasurable magnitude.
