Ana's father, second cousin to the royal family, has been stationed in Puerto Rico as commander to oversee military expeditions in the port of San Juan. Ana's father tasks Castiel as his son-in-law to keep safe a centuries old treasure found by his sailors that can supposedly lead one to paradise.
Word gets out among drunk soldiers in the port and settles in the ears of the pirate brothers Winchester. Having lost their parents en route to America to escape religious persecution, the brothers and their crew have sworn against all forms of oppressing authority. Their fealty is to freedom above all else.
