Summary
After the dust settles and Spirits and Such returns to something like normal, Reigen and Serizawa fall into a routine that feels safe enough not to question. They work together. They rely on each other. Sometimes, they sleep together.
It isn’t love - at least, that’s what Reigen insists. For Serizawa, it’s easier not to ask for more than it is to risk losing what he already has.
But lines blur, rules get broken, and mornings are harder to walk away from than nights. When one of them starts hoping and the other starts running, something has to give.

Wriothesley’s heavy black coat, folded on the back of his chair. The Duke’s fast, long, straggly writing – left-handed – his hand angled just so to prevent the ink from smearing.
Keen brow. Sharp jaw. Dark lashes. The scar under his eye. The way the Duke absently runs a hand through his hair when thinking.
The tiny moments – nestled among quills scratching on paper, the sound of typewriter keys, and too-full schedules – when Monsieur Neuvillette feels something he may have long come to call love, if only he were human.
A human might have professed his love already. Neuvillette is not human and has not done so, but maybe that's more okay than he thinks.

And that’s enough for Neuvillette to sink back into the quiet serenity of being bound, his eyes drifting shut. Wriothesley is here, his mate. Wriothesley’s ropes cradle him. He is safe, secure, and he can do nothing but accept everything Wriothesley chooses to give him.
Heat burns through him, a gentle smolder. His lips part on a soft sigh, a gentle exhalation as Wriothesley crouches, as Wriothesley’s knuckles draw down Neuvillette’s hip, his thigh. Fire follows in the wake of Wriothesley’s touch, an ache that spreads throughout Neuvillette’s body.
After Neuvillette safe words out of a suspension scene, he and Wriothesley try again.
