Summary
Astarion is a vampire spawn, recently freed from two hundred years of enslavement and torture. He'll do anything to maintain his freedom. Even ally himself with a Pollyanna Do-Gooder bard who annoys the hells out of him, and her traveling companions who inexplicably consist of extremely powerful individuals. He is hoping by manipulating their bard leader, he can eventually convince them to destroy his former master and secure his freedom for good. They all have the same affliction that binds their fate after all... even if they are a group of weirdos.
Tav is a Drow bard, an exile from the Underdark, who sings and dances her way through life across the Surface, enjoying the sun and a lifestyle avoiding any real responsibilities. Until the day she's captured by Mindflayers and finds herself corralling a group of similarly infected individuals, banding together to find a cure. They have to find a cure. Tav refuses accept a fate of blind servitude to a soulless entity. She escaped that once, she'll never go back. Now if only this Pale Elf would stop trying to seduce her, so she can focus.
Dual POV following the story of Baldur's Gate 3. Reluctant Companions to Lovers trope. Shenanigans ensue.

Summary
The year is 1300DR, and Astarion Ancunín awakens in a coffin, driven by a compulsive urge to escape and find Lord Cazador Szarr. Astarion, scared of the unknown fate that awaits him on the Fugue Plane, chooses immortality and accepts the vampire's dark gift. It is only later that he learns how long eternity will be - and how Cazador intends to use the beautiful young lawyer to feed his insatiable lust for power, control ... and blood.

“Are you here to claim my gift?” Cazador asked from atop his throne. “Will you embrace immortality, my son? You have tasted death once – how did you like it?”Astarion bowed his head, terror soaring through him. He wasn’t even forty, still an elf-child - he thought he had so much more time to make his mark on the world, earn his place in the kingdom of one God or another. The memory of dimming blackness, the idea of being trapped on the Fugue Plane, his soul unclaimed for eternity, made him shake. All he wanted was one last chance, to survive, to live.
“I accept,” he choked out, not really knowing what he was agreeing to – but it didn’t matter. Anything to escape his fate.
“Then you shall be mine,” Cazador said, rising slowly. “Forever.”
