Saphir Stellamaris wouldn't call his a lot a charmed life exactly. Sure you get to wear fancy silks and jewels and rub elbows with the Gate's Great and the Good. You also have to serve them in whatever way they request. Thankfully they'll pay out the nose for a taste of something exotic and his particular skillset makes it so he doesn't have to endure the worst of it. Still with his coffers now overflowing Saphir wonders how to start extracting himself from this lifestyle and how exactly someone of his background is going to make his plans for the future work. After all a foulblood no matter their breeding is still a foulblood at the end of the day. And even the most progressive cities would most likely balk at his ideas. Although...maybe...maybe this Gortash fellow could be a way of getting his hoof in the door. After all if someone of common blood can rise through the ranks at the rate he has surely he knows something of breaking through glass ceilings.
The man in fact did not have anything helpful to share.

But Enver knows that there is no forgiving his actions. Neither will a decent person forgive his evil, nor will Bane ever forgive his failure. And then he learns that he has sinned in the eyes of one more god: Oghma, whose church makes sure the technology in Faerûn cannot advance too far.

He's desperately trying to leave his past behind him, but it's hard when he's trying to save everyone - especially a deep gnome who knows the drow all too well, a drider he has far too much in common with, and a worshipper of pain he just can't get out of his head.

The funny thing about Faerun, though, is that things are never quiet for too long. This fic is intended as a semi-novelization of the game, with some expansions to canon, some filler for plot holes, and a lot of Forgotten Realms/tabletop lore with a big focus on bards and artificers.
