Mycroft y Sherlock corrían por la galería a toda velocidad, con los pies enfundados en calcetines que se apoyaban en la alfombra y emitían golpes sordos mientras corrían uno al lado del otro. Fuera de los altos ventanales, la nieve volaba en fantásticos remolinos que estaban a merced del gélido viento del norte. El cielo era gris oscuro y amenazador. La escarcha bordeaba los cristales de las ventanas. Sherlock y Mycroft iban envueltos en pesadas capas de lana, pues la piedra del castillo no impedía que el frío del exterior se filtrara al interior. A menos que uno estuviera directamente frente a una chimenea. Hacía frío.
Pero Sherlock y Mycroft habían estado sentados frente al fuego todo el día.
