Phainon is dying - but no one besides Hyacine knows. He is going through Mate-Rejection which he's had since first meeting Mydeimos. Never entertaining even the thought that he was an equal or good match for the Kremnosian. It was even worse when he and Khaslana merge back together - Burdening the Worldbearer with guilt beyond words. Nightmares. Even greater self hatred.
