“Having pups.” Lian said firmly. “It’s free labor.” She added, total sincerity laced through her scent.
Tim was fighting for his life to not laugh at her, but it was so hard because her face was just so serious, in the way that only a six-year-old who had decided they knew what life was all about could be. “You might be onto something.” He managed to say. “Tell me more?”
“We’re not being paid to do chores.” Lian said. “So we’re doing stuff for free and are not being com-pen-sated. But they can do that ‘cause we’re just pups. We can’t tell ‘em no.”

Dick was not a fan of space missions anymore. He used to love them, used to find it fascinating to go to other planets, find out about alien cultures. In a weird way, it almost reminded him of his traveling days with the circus. Waking up somewhere new all the time. The cramped quarters. The community of people he cared about and cared about him.Then he got back from space to find his little brother dead and his dad an emotional wreck. That sort of thing… it does tend to put a damper on things. A lot of things. Everything really.
So yeah, he started to avoid space missions, sending the Titan’s on ahead without him whenever possible.
This last mission, it wasn’t possible. The Titan’s were being called to help a planet Earth had a mutual defense treaty with, and as one of the people who officiated said treaty and made direct promises to come personally help, he really didn’t have a choice in the matter.

But here they were, standing outside Roy’s car as the archer packed his go-bag and started setting up a miniature armory in the trunk.“Lian’s with her grandpa for the weekend, so I need to be back by Monday.” Roy said conversationally.
It boggled his mind. “Why would you do this for me? I literally broke your window and demanded you marry me.”
“He stole your PUP, that douche is going down.” Roy frowned.
“It was Batman.” Jason blurted out.
“Oh fuck yes, why didn’t you tell me that sooner? I’ve wanted to punch him in the face for YEARS.” Roy’s grin was brighter than a sunflower as he looked up. “Why didn’t you lead with that?!”

Jason opened his mouth, trying to breathe in his scent, but as always, the scent was completely blocked off in the suit.
Jason had loved Bruce, once upon a time. He’d never really loved Batman though. He’d hated how he could never tell what the man was feeling between the sheer amount of scent blockers Bruce wore and the heavy cowl.
Now was no different.

After all, if Jason REALLY wanted to stop Tim from being Robin, he would have confiscated Tim’s computer. So really, was it Tim’s fault that he hadn’t? Was it Tim’s fault he found a lead on traffickers at the docks and decided to follow up on it? Nope, it was Jason’s. Tim was just following his instincts.Yeah, that was how he’d sell it to Jason if the Omega ever found out what happened.
…Gotham help him if Jason figured it out before Tim escaped from this mess.

Barbara would like it noted for the record that she didn’t START her vigilante career by donning a spandex suit and kicking ass. She started by nosing around in places she shouldn’t be and being a little more skeptical about the public statements than most people were. If a company said they weren’t doing human experimentation, Barbara was of the opinion that if they were completely innocent, there probably wouldn’t be a reason for them to make such a statement.
The spandex and kicking ass part just kind of…clinched it, honestly. Because her uncle was so damn stubborn about Barbara not joining the police force, he’d flip if he knew she was even trying to do a little on-the-side investigating.
So she kinda did need a mask if she didn’t want to be grounded until she was thirty.
Thus, Batgirl made her debut appearance on the mean streets of Gotham city at the ripe old age of seventeen. This debut was not appreciated by, well, everyone. Thugs, mobsters…Batman.Series

Tim swung his bo staff in a sharp sweep, hoping to take the Crime Lord off-balance and give himself some breathing room, but Red Hood ducked beneath it. Before Tim could correct, could flow into a counter, he found himself tackled to the ground, the breath pushed from his lungs as the Crime Lord’s weight settled over him. FUCK!Tim tried to hit, to buck Red Hood off, but so much of Robin training was about NOT LETTING THE MUCH HEAVIER CRIMINALS SIT ON THEM. There was only so much a pup could do in that situation and Tim was well aware of how futile this was. He had no leverage, it had taken the Crime Lord about .5 seconds to grab and pin his arms (using only one hand!) above him, and Tim was helpless. Pinned like a bug by a strength much greater than his own.
Tim shivered in fear as Red Hood’s other hand started to flick over him, prodding at his usually covered glands, hovering over his neck. For a moment, the hand retreated and Tim relaxed.
Big mistake.
