Summary
Sherlock can understand the reasoning behind birthday celebrations. He can understand the theory of why they’re important; a collaboration of self-esteem and fear of death and the human greed for love, showcased in the form of presents. He could write a speech on how, even though he finds it all ridiculous, he can comprehend the theory perfectly well.
But the truth is, Sherlock can’t. Not really. Because there was a difference between theory and practice.In which John attempts to make Sherlock's birthday as amazing as possible, and Sherlock reconsiders his opinion.

When John manages to finally get down to Earth from the Sky where he has lived all his life, he's forced to realise that humans aren't all that he'd built them up to be. But Sherlock - he's the first one to really think that John was special in a good way, and he's everything that John had imagined in a friend.
When Sherlock, bored enough to stalk the streets of London looking for crime, runs into a pyjama-clad John Watson, he knows something just isn't human about the man. Realising just how not-human John is, however, only fascinates Sherlock even more.Somehow, they develop a friendship stronger than anything either of them has experienced before, and embark on a journey that not only changes them, but everyone around them, too.

Summary
The Experiment was a gamble that Sherlock had been unsure in taking, but thanks to Mycroft's stupid interference, he was attempting it anyway. The predicted outcome?
Well, this was John, the most unpredictable and yet predictable man Sherlock had ever met. There were no predicted outcomes.
But, hopefully, it would end up with jam on at least one of them... and a shared shower.
(It doesn't, but it does end in something both ridiculously sentimental and mind-numbingly wonderful, Sherlock learns later.) -

Watson has taken to bringing food with him during Sherlock's cases. Because as much as Sherlock likes to say eating during cases is bad for his mind, Watson has found that if you stuff a mouthful of food in Sherlock's mouth while he's talking he will chew and swallow it so he can continue talking.

It's obsessive, possessive, and definitely codependent. It's also the first time any of them have found people who don't ask them to be better.

When Yusami finds out she's been dropped into the Naruto universe, she doesn't know if she should feel relieved or cheated to have missed out on all of the cool ninja stuff.
"Both" she decides as she looks down at her favorite customer and wonders how she can sneak extra veggies into his bag without him noticing, "Definitely both."
Or: a self-insert becomes a simple grocer in Konohagakure and decides that if no one else is going to adopt the baby protagonist, then it's free real estate.
Featuring: a civilian woman beating Danzou at his own game, Naruto finding the love he's always deserved, and a hefty amount of ANBU operatives wondering if the Uchiha are accepting volunteers for that little coup/revolution.
