Summary
“Doctor Abbot,” Noelle smiles as she approaches him. She’s wearing a pencil skirt today, Jack notes. Must be the Friday vibes. “I wasn’t expecting you at this hour.”
“I'm covering for Robby,” Jack shrugs, looking at her evenly. He makes a point to keep his face blank.
“Is he out sick?” Noelle’s brows furrow.
Oh. Well, this will be fun.
“Nope,” Jack says, popping the ‘pe’ as hard as he can. “It’s his boyfriend’s birthday today.”
OR: Like it says on the tin. It is Dennis’ birthday. He gets thoroughly celebrated. Also featuring some familial angst.

Dennis tries to change the arrangement he and Robby have before an upcoming event. Their argument about going public leaves Dennis feeling avoidant and petty, and Robby guilt ridden and anxious.
The tension between them comes to a head when jealousy makes Robby realize his anxieties are worth overcoming if it means he’ll keep Dennis.
After they make up, Dennis shows Robby just how much being officially together means to him.

Summary
“I haven’t really been to a wedding where I’ve, uh… let loose. But, hey,” Dennis shrugged, “maybe I’m doing it wrong.”
“If I hadn’t already agreed to go to this conference, I’d offer to go with you,” Robby said casually. “Show you how it’s done. I’ve got a good track record as a plus-one, too.” Dennis had to say something. To interrupt. To shut this down. But what was he supposed to say? No, you can’t be my plus one, because I lied about my cousin, and there is no wedding, and it seems a little weird to bring a date to a fucking funeral– “Apparently parents love it when you bring home a doctor.”
And just like that, the bubble popped.
“I’m not gay,” Dennis snapped.
He had never hated the sound of his own voice as much as he did right then.
---
Or, Dennis is anxiously headed home for a "wedding" in Broken Bow, Nebraska, the details of which are increasingly fuzzy. Robby's got a medical conference in Omaha that same weekend. So they carpool. Seventeen hours both ways in an enclosed space with no way out except a tuck and roll. This'll go great.- Language:

Summary
Who would know? He could take it to his grave. He could write Trinity about his small act of defiance. He could have one decent day to look back to this summer. What was the harm?
Well, of course, this man could be a serial killer. Or homophobic. Or a homophobic serial killer.
Fuck it, honestly.
“I, uhm, I take my lunch in five.” Dennis said, leaning up on his toes a little, then back into his heels. “There’s this little place down the road. Quiet. Doesn’t get a lot of visitors.”
The gorgeous older man raised a brow. He looked amused, again, but not in a way that made Dennis feel mocked. There was interest there. Like he as trying to size Dennis up.
“Are you implying what I think you’re implying?” He asked.
Dennis brushed a curl behind his ear, eyes filtering around again before landing on the man in his car. He nodded, a little, blue eyes on brown.
He watched as the man grinned, really grinned, running a hand down his beard.

"I won't rat you out to HR."
He joked, his eyes bright, but Robby pressed his lips together, looking at him.
"Maybe you should. I'm your attending. And I'm…way too old for you."
Dennis clicked his tongue.
"I fucked guys older than you."
Robby blinked, a soft exhale escaping him.
"What?"
"I said…" Dennis spoke slowly, clearly, even if his heart was beating out of his chest. "I fucked guys who were older than you."

Summary
Robby has gone from barely being able to watch to not wanting to even blink. He can’t keep his eyes from darting down to where Whitaker’s thighs grip the saddle, how he slides forwards on it with every downward bow of the bull and back as it pushes up. Again and again and again, he rolls with the mechanical bull with a single circular fluid motion.
It crosses his mind that this might be one of the hottest things he’s ever seen. He doesn’t even try to unpack that thought, it doesn’t even feel like an opinion he can change. It’s just a fact. Whitaker on the mechanical bull is one of the hottest things he’s ever seen.
-
It’s Javadi’s twenty-first birthday party and the Pitt team hit the cowboy themed bar downtown. Whitaker gets on the mechanical bull.
One thing leads to another.

Summary
Samira’s eyes went wide. If her cheeks weren’t rosy before, they probably were now. Was he . . . . flirting with her? Jack sat there facing her, his eyes dark and heavy, the corners of his lips turned upward slightly, a daring look on his face. He was handsome, with his graying curls and sturdy physique. Samira wasn’t one for being boy-crazy, but there was something about Jack Abbott that brought it out in her.
Maybe it was the alcohol. Maybe it was the adrenaline.
Whatever it was had pushed Samira over the edge. In an instant, she leaned over and closed the distance between them, her lips on his as she balanced her weight on her hands in front of her.All of the times Jack and Samira have kissed. Starting the night of PittFest and extending onward.

Summary
She looked over at him, startled, but Abbot wasn’t looking at her face, he was looking at her hands where they rested on the table, or maybe at something past her hands that she couldn’t see. “I thought— I mean, you wear a wedding ring,” she said hesitantly.
He looked up at Mohan, keen-eyed and sharp. “Well, I wear dog tags, too,” he said.

Abbot and Mohan's unspoken situationship gets out of hand at work, and Mohan suggests a private conversation.

Summary
six months ago, Jack Abbot broke your heart. You're not interested in trying to move on; you have enough problems to deal with. Robby doesn't date, too consumed with survivors guilt to try. The proposition is simple enough: pretend to date each other, get Janey off his back about being alone, convince Jack you've moved on. Only, neither of you are that simple.

Rule one: They can't tell anyone about the ruse, because Keyleth sucks at lying.
Rule two: It wouldn't be awkward.
Rule three: It had to be convincing enough that Syldor Vessar believed it, so they did have to kiss.
My take on the classic 'Vex and Percy fake date for the holidays' trope.
