Summary
Sam felt as though his whole life was defined by numbers. He was running on borrowed time, and he knew it. He actually felt like he could hear the smallest tick of a clock every time he coughed, had a dizzy spell, or had trouble breathing. He want the suffering to end. Hell, he wanted it all to be over, but he was too scared to let go.
Gabriel, on the other hand, was doing perfectly fine. He was an artist in New York, had a rich father and a nice apartment, but he always felt like something was missing. It couldn’t be love, he swore off that years ago, but it was definitely something.
Even though they lived on opposite sides of the country, Sam and Gabriel still managed to come together, Sam spending his last days with Gabriel, and Gabriel finally filling that hole in his life with Sam.- Language:

Summary
I’m horrible at writing summaries, but here goes. Set after the boys went their separate ways. Sam called Dean to tell him that he was Lucifer’s vessel, only to have his brother tell him how much better they were apart. Hurt, and afraid, Sam did the only thing that he thought might work to keep Lucifer from claiming his vessel. Unfortunately, he woke up anyways. Only, when he woke, it was to find the Trickster of all people sitting on the bed across from him.
He hadn’t expected to see him of all people there, and he certainly hadn’t expected to find him in his car the next morning, announcing that he was going to be traveling with him. Together, they set out, one to try and stop this whole thing, and the other for reasons that he keeps to himself.
Loki’s open about his opinion that Sam is going to eventually say ‘yes’. To him, it’s not even a question To Sam, it’s the one thing he’s determined to keep from happening.

When his brother is paired with an unlikely angel named Castiel, Sam is thrown head-first into a world of archangels, love letters, and an alarming amount of vests. However, as he gets closer to a particularly charming archangel named Gabriel, he starts to doubt the system. Hijinks include Gabriel in sock hop garb, spying on Dean and Cas, way too chipper Samandriel, creeper!Michael, and Gabriel and Lucifer fighting over Sam's pretty face (sort of).

Because Loki had only been trying to help him. He'd come back to bring him sanity but Sam had made the wrong call, picking revenge over peace. He chose wrong. Why did he always choose wrong?
Sam starts a tentative relationship of casual sex with the trickster after Loki tells him he's alive. It continues longer than Sam ever thought it would and it develops in an unexpected way. But when it develops past casual and into the emotional Sam tries to stop. But love isn't exactly something you can just quit.
When Dean dies, Loki tries to help Sam move on, getting even closer to the hunter. But Sam can't just forget about his brother. He never can just let go.

He’s sensible and level-headed, and as such when he shared a drunken moment with the janitor of their office, it throws him. He would have gotten over it, probably, if said janitor hadn’t then told him he was pregnant. Sam’s life quickly descends into chaos as he tries to work out if he really has knocked-up a gold-digger, or if things aren’t really as bad as all that.
