Summary
Husks hands reach toward the zipper on Angel’s boots and Angel freezes. In an instant he’s fully awake, eyes open and mind alert.
“What are you doing?” he demands.
Husk shoots him a confused look.
“Your feet hurt, don’t they?”
For a moment, Angel weighs his options.
Because he’s starred in a scene just like this before. Dozens of them, in fact. He never would’ve guessed that Husk was a foot guy, but he supposes everyone is into a least a little freaky shit.
It always starts as a simple, ostensibly innocent offer, just like this one. Oh, your feet hurt? Here, let me help you. And next thing he knows, Husk’s pupils are blown wide, his breath is coming in sharp, shallow pants, and he’s asking to suck on Angel’s toes or something.
And sure, Angel can turn him down, and Husk’s the rare sort of guy who will take no for an answer. But Angel won’t pretend that the whole situation doesn’t sour his stomach a bit, Husk thinking he’s found some slick, subtle way of getting his hands on Angel. Like he hasn’t seen it all, starred in it all, endured it all before.
Five times it wasn't a sex thing (and one time it was)

Summary
“Dowsing chain,” Leorio repeats, voice lilting through the phone. “I like those chains, y’know? A lot. You’ve got pretty hands. Chains look good on ‘em. Makes me wonder—
“Shut up,” Kurapika hisses, face hot even in the cold night air. “You’re losing blood, Leorio. It’s hardly the time for this sort of conversation.”
Leorio is losing blood. Kurapika is losing time.

Summary
When Charlie came along, overflowing with her dreams and her kindness, begging him to give her hotel a chance, Angel agreed, sure. But only because he liked the idea that when he ended up vomiting all over the carpet, maybe he wasn’t always going to have to be the one to clean it up. He’d never meant for it to go this far, to one night be sitting at a tacky bar showing Husk the fifteenth picture of Nuggets in a row, and realize, with a jolt of surprise so strong he almost jumped, that the warm pressure he was feeling in his chest was happiness. Angel couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt happy. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt anything at all.
But Angel should’ve known better. He’s been wasted enough times to know that the higher you get, the better it all feels, the worse everything hurts when you finally sober up.
Sometimes, if you're careful and good and lucky, you manage to leap out of the way of the speeding train just in time.

Summary
“Ranpo, we all know you could deduce exactly who took the chocolates,” says Dr. Yosano. “Why not just figure it out yourself and be done with it?”
But Atsushi understands. He understands perfectly. There’s a ritual to penance, and the headmaster won’t be satisfied unless Atsushi performs every step. Swallowing down against the mounting nausea, forcing his leaden limbs to move through will alone, and confessing to what he’s done are as much a part of the punishment as the pain that follows.
Atsushi stumbles to his feet, steps forward, and all but crumples into perfect dogeza. It won’t convince them of his remorse — he hasn’t bled enough for that, not yet — but if nothing else, the position does protect his face, at least in the beginning.

Summary
It can’t end like this. Atsushi has mere minutes left, maybe less, and he can’t die listening to Akutagwa’s scolding and insults. Comfort has never come easily to Akutagwa, but he has to try. Atsushi deserves that much, at least.
But Akutagawa can’t think of what to say. He can’t tell Atsushi that it’s fine, that he’ll be okay, or any of those trite, hollow reassurances. It’s not okay, and perhaps it never will be again — not without Atsushi.
In his last moments, bloody and painful though they are, Atsushi deserves better than lies. So Akutagawa instead settles on the deepest truth he knows. Perhaps, here and now, the only truth.
“You can’t die, you useless overgrown cat,” Akutagawa snarls, half-choking on a sob. “I love you, so you can’t die. Not when I love you.”
Thinking Atsushi is dying in his arms, Akutagawa confesses his love, knowing he’ll never have another chance.
But of course Atsushi, always the thorn in Akutagawa’s side, does something wholly unexpected.
He survives.

Summary
Shou's just a kid, and he used to have the weight of the world on his shoulders. Now he doesn't. The absence isn't something he knows how to deal with. He's angry. He's very, very angry. He doesn't want to be. Not anymore.

Summary
Reigen goes through life like he'd gone against the President; with confidence, a few killer moves, and a simple need to make the world better, if just for a second — and a nominal fee.
He's so brave and kind and good, and he probably never gets overwhelmed at the store when he doesn't bag his groceries fast enough.
