“That’s what I was saying!” Jisung states, eagerly. “This guy, whoever he- or she- is, has officially become a serial killer. I bet you ten thousand won, that we’re gonna have another murder today, after the sun goes down.”
There’s a short silence.
“And, what makes you so sure of that?”
“Dude, look at their victims! We’ve got Ji-min, the cheerleader, and Min-jeong, her soccer star girlfriend. Everybody knows couples in slashers never survive. Then, we got Seon, the playboy. He’s too promiscuous- the perfect target for a high school-focused serial killer. And, if I’m right- which I know I am, we’re gonna get another non-virgin knifed.”
“Why non-virgin?” Hyunjin demands.
Jisung grins. “It’s the first rule of a slasher, baby. Only virgins get to live.”
Seungmin blinks. “But, all of us are virgins.”
(or, seungmin finds himself playing the role of the final girl, after his life turns into a slasher flick.)

“Do you remember two weeks ago when I bought you coffee twice in a row instead of alternating like usual and you said you owed me?” Seungmin asks without any sort of preface. Minho blinks at him uncomprehendingly. “I’m here to cash in the favour now.”
“You interrupted my rest time at ass o’clock in the middle of the week to come ask for a coffee I owe you?”
Seungmin shakes his head. “No. I need you to pretend to date me.”
Minho blinks at him again, then shuts the door in his face.After confessing and getting rejected by his best friend, Seungmin comes up with an elaborate plan to save face that involves fake dating Minho in order to prove that he's moving on. There's no chance of feelings from either side, since they're both already caught up in their unrequited ones - right?

Minho does that. He used to, at least. Somehow he cut Seungmin to the bone, for years. When Seungmin was a trainee, he thought that Minho was just like that. The reality was much more complicated. Minho fashioned himself to whatever company he kept. Warm and tender with Felix. Competitive with Changbin. Telepathic with Jisung.
Who was he with Seungmin? Barely cruel. Teasing. Minho used to hold a magnifying glass to the things Seungmin hid so well.
Maybe that’s why Minho didn’t try to reach out after that morning. He’d figured out that Seungmin was a coward a long time ago.

“Mornin’,” The cashier drawls, voice light and airy, “Don’t think I’ve seen you around here before.”
Seungmin risks glancing up. He immediately regrets it.
The man standing behind the register is so beautiful, Seungmin loses all of the air in his lungs. His skin is flawless, crystal-clear and glowing even under the dingy store lighting. His dark hair falls effortlessly messy on his forehead, framing dark, sharp eyes. Red lips open around bright white teeth as he pops the gum in his mouth, his jawline and bone structure making him look statuesque. Seungmin is stuck, feet glued to the dirty, off-white tile beneath his feet; the cashier gives him an obvious, cheesy once-over. Seungmin’s cheeks heat up as he follows the way the man’s eyes drag down his neck, chest and settle on his waist.
“Yeah… definitely haven’t seen you around before.” The cashier’s gaze meets Seungmin’s again, his mouth contorts into a greasy smirk.

Seungmin's grandmother leaves her house to him when she passes away, Seungmin decides to move in despite the fact that the town she lived in always gave him the heebie-jeebies. He may regret it.
