Summary
The city of Arda is under the rule of the Knight Templar Smaug, but in the shadows hide two factions who just might be able to bring him down:
Thorin Oakenshield, Master Assassin of the Sons of Durin, has lived his life haunted by the shadow of his family’s secret and the price on his head.
Bilbo Baggins, head of the Children of Yavanna, has his own reasons for wanting Smaug dead.
The two factions have been been rivals for years, but it is only united that they might stand a chance of freeing Arda - and themselves - from Smaug’s tyranny. The fates of the city and their Orders lie in their hands… just a shame they can’t seem to spend five minutes in each other’s company without blades being drawn.

He loves the way he lives his life, one step at a time and without a care in the world. Until he meets Fili Durin. Kindhearted and down to earth, Fili works at a record store in one of the rundown neighborhoods of Erebor, trying to raise enough money to move out of the city. When the two of them cross paths, Kili learns that there’s more to life than just sleeping around.

In the small town of the Shire lies an ice cream parlour on Hobbit Lane. Not a messy, franchised ice cream store, but a family-owned one, and that meant comfort.
Or, Bilbo owns Bag-End Creamery, and quite enjoys his quiet life. However, his dull evening has been interrupted by someone hammering next door. Surely no one has finally bought the store-front next door? It hasn't been owned in decades, who would buy it? And more importantly, who are they, and do they like ice cream?
Insert pie-maker Thorin and his raucous band of family members to disrupt Bilbo's respectable life. Perhaps it won't be so awful after all.

Durin Manor is in need of a face lift and Thorin begrudgingly allows Dis to call in a decorator to do it up as Thorin works too much and too hard to even dust the place. If he knew how to hang wallpaper, he would, but watching a cute, enigmatic blond do it for him, and in white dungarees no less, well... that's just a pain in the arse he must tolerate, isn't it?

After getting a job offer from a Grey Wizard, Bilbo finds himself on an aging farm, surrounded by rambunctious and sullen men, facing troubles far too big for a small, simple man.
At least the horses seem to like him.

On the train ride to Hogwarts, Bilbo Baggins starts chatting with this quiet older dwarf who says little but is absolutely charming. Unfortunately for him, he later finds out this dwarf is not anyone but his new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, and Bilbo might just lose his mind trying not to do something...indecorous.
Where Hogwarts is in Middle Earth and the results of having dwarfs, humans, elves, and hobbits on the same roof is still pretty disastrous.

Gimli works for the newly resurrected Durin's Restaurant, helping his Uncle Thorin recreate the glory of Erebor Enterprises. Legolas works for Eleni, an Asian fusion restaurant owned by his father, Thranduil, vineyard owner Elrond, and food supplier Bilbo Baggins. Gimli and Legolas are two delivery drivers who should have nothing in common, given their complicated family history. Still, throw in fellow drivers Fili, Kili, Frodo, Merry, Pippin, and Sam, sushi chef Aragorn, Chef Frerin, and a host of other familiar faces... add school, tutoring, root beer, and good natured bickering and there might be something these two can bond over. At the very least, doesn't it count for something when Legolas can't stop thinking of Gimli? And Gimli keeps plaiting secret braids in Legolas' hair? And Dain wants nothing more than to push their stubborn heads together and go, 'now, kiss'... ??

The first Hobbit Skin-changer for centuries and after years of bullying and rejection from his fellow Hobbits, Bilbo had not wanted to tell the company his secret when he'd just found a family again and could not face rejection again from Thorin. But, he'd not changed for weeks and Bilbo needed to change soon. If he could just stave off the change until they reached Beorn's he may be able to sneak away without anyone being any the wiser. However, he'd underestimated his need to change...
